903 days after Philippe Gilbert’s victory, another Paris-Roubaix will take place on Sunday 3 October. The organization has already announced that little is being done about the course: one extra cobblestone strip raises the total to thirty pieces, good for 55 kilometers of cobblestones.
The extra cobblestone section is that of Hameau du Buat, which will be visited for the first time since 2016. Unlike 2019, the cobbled section in Troisvilles will also be used for its total length of 2.2 km, while that of Vertain’s will be run in the opposite direction this time,
The great novelty of Paris-Roubaix, however, remains the introduction of the women’s edition. Compared to the 257.7 kilometers that the men will cover, this will be limited to 116.4 kilometers for the women. The women’s peloton will first complete three local rounds in Denain before moving on to the last 85 kilometers of the men’s course after 31 kilometers in Hornaing.
