Index - Abroad - Hungarian specialist to decide on Austrian media support

The Austrian Media Authority (KommAustria) has invited Krisztina Rozgonyi to join the advisory board of one of the largest media support funds.

The specialist was previously the chairman of the National Communications Authority, which was then supervising the Hungarian telecommunications industry and frequency management.

The five-member panel decides on public service subsidies for commercial media and controls how the money is spent. Distributes € 23 million a year to commercial media providers (televisions, radios and non-profit organizations), writes Creative.

Between 2010 and 2015, Rozgonyi’s lawyer also worked in Serbia and Central Asia as a member of projects dealing mainly with media freedom. He teaches and researches at the Universität Wien in Vienna, specializing in media regulation, media policy, gender and media. He also returns to Hungary to teach law training at the University of Law and sometimes to the Department of Media at Eötvös Loránd University.
