Index - Domestic - Judit Varga writes about new pressure on her community page

Judit Varga considers it a matter of pressure that the Council of Europe (EC) Commissioner for Human Rights has expressed her concern about the government-initiated referendum on child protection in a statement.

On the community page, the Minister of Justice writes: Dunja Mijatovic illustrated all this with an image in which the Commissioner of the ET supports the Hungarian opposition parties, according to the head of the ministry. Judit Varga also calls on the commissioner not to “represent party interests or biased ideological positions”.

It seems that many people do not like the fact that Hungarians can express their views on the upbringing of their children in a democratic way and do anything to influence the outcome of the vote. Don’t leave this to him! Protect the rights of children and parents

– said the Minister.

As previously reported by the Index, a referendum on child protection will be held on April 3, the same day as the parliamentary elections. The issues in the four-question referendum are:

  • Do you support the holding of sexual orientation sessions for minor children in public education without parental consent?
  • Do you support the promotion of gender reassignment treatments for minors?
  • Do you support the unrestricted introduction of sexual media content to minors that affects their development?
  • Do you support the display of gender-sensitive media content to minors?
