Index - Domestic - More than 600 cyclists die on the roads every year

600-650 fatal cycling accidents occur on the roads each year, but all of this could be prevented by a comprehensive change in traffic attitudes. Máriusz Révész, the government commissioner responsible for Active Hungary, spoke about this in Mogyoród – writes the World economy. The government commissioner presented the results of the latest national research on cycling habits.

Máriusz Révész said that it is not worth talking about separate car and bicycle groups, those involved in road transport must be treated and protected in a uniform way, in which the addition of the TRAFFIC can also help in changing attitudes.

He also reminded me that the Keep 1.5 meters side distance! A campaign called Prevention of Bicycle Accidents was launched.

The World Economy also writes that according to the data of the national research commissioned by Groupama Insurance, bicycle users do not give up their means of transport even in unpleasant weather conditions:

42 percent of them set off in rainy weather, 56 percent in cold weather, and 60 percent in strong winds. In the research, bikers identified the prevention of motorists without adequate lateral distance as the biggest source of danger.

The research also revealed that motorists are most afraid of unlit cyclists.
