Zsolt Hernádi made a statement on his criminal case in Croatia on Monday night. In his view, he was prosecuted for reactivating former Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, bringing together “services” and the entire state machinery to prevent Sanader from returning.

To do so, he said, was to set up a case based on Mol’s acquisition of nearly 50 per cent of the Croatian national oil company, INA, in the 2000s and the acquisition of control of the company during Ivo Sanader’s presidency.

According to Zsolt Hernádi, he will not be extradited to Croatia because in 2018 the Metropolitan Court ruled that a fair trial would not be conducted in the case.
