After almost a month, Gergely Gulyás and Alexandra Szentkirályi held Government Information again. The minister in charge of the prime minister began the briefing by saying that the fourth wave will be different from the previous three thanks to the vaccinations.
The head of the ministry said the government did not want to pursue a policy of closures.
He later added that if necessary, new measures would be taken, and it was not ruled out that the role of the protection card could be further enhanced.
Gergely Gulyás emphasized that today, from an epidemiological point of view, Hungary is one of the safest and freest countries in Europe. The cabinet is doing everything it can to help vaccinate the elderly, there are still 400,000 unvaccinated people over the age of 60, and despite the campaign, there is a high rejection of vaccines among them.
Gergely Gulyás revealed that they are discussing whether the employer can make it compulsory for employees to take the vaccine, but no decision has been made. He also considers it a legitimate demand on the part of employers that employees be available and not endanger each other.
Extinguishing media is plentiful, additional shipments are constantly arriving. The European Union has a new procurement campaign, in which Hungary would also take part, they would buy vaccines for use by those under 12 years of age together.
The government has initiated an extension of the emergency until January 1, they need it for a quick response, parliament must vote on it.
The minimum wage of two hundred thousand is yes, gay marriage is not
Negotiations on the minimum wage are underway, and the government is negotiating with employers and employee representatives to have a minimum wage of two hundred thousand forints as early as January 2022.
Gergely Gulyás also said that if the minimum wage increases, the guaranteed minimum wage must increase in a similar proportion. Employers, on the other hand, are claiming a tax credit, primarily in the area of social contribution tax. The cabinet is ready to make a budget sacrifice to keep employers competitive if they commit to higher wages.
It is important to recognize same-sex marriage and cohabitation in the European Union, MEPs who support the proposal said in their resolution on the rights of members of the LGBTQI community in the EU, we wrote in our article yesterday. On a journalistic question, the Chancellor said emphatically that it was unthinkable to allow same-sex marriage, if only because he thought marijuana could be legalized, but same-sex marriage did not exist, it was a philosophical question. The rules of cohabitation were adopted by the left-wing government, Gulyás continued, and they thought it was right, and they have not touched on it since.
They are negotiating with the European Commission
In the context of government bond issuance, it has been argued that funding is also needed to secure funding and advance EU projects. The recovery fund is being further negotiated with the European Commission and no agreement has yet been reached.
