As previously reported by the Index, LL Junior’s three-year-old son on August 31, 2019 in Budapest XIV. In the district of Vezér, at the intersection of Vezér utca and Füredi utca, despite the forbidden sign, a zebra ran over and waded to death. The little boy and his mother were with a larger company and were just heading to a children’s event. The company also included the toddler’s older brother, as well as the mother’s girlfriend and his relatives.
The Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office according to a recent announcement the three-year-old drove under the close supervision of his mother’s girlfriend, not his mother. When he wanted to cross the zebra at the intersection of Vezér Street and Füredi Street, the pedestrian traffic light turned red, so some of the company, including LL Junior’s little son, stopped about 0.7 meters from the edge of the road. Next to the little boy was Csilla Hopp’s girlfriend on the right, and her mother on her right. The other part of the company, including the child’s older brother, crossed to the other side of the road before the red sign, where they stopped and waited for the others to cross.
The three-year-old child, following his older brother, stepped down on the zebra, however, his mother’s girlfriend pulled him back, held him back, and told him not to go any further because the light was red. The girlfriend then took the little boy’s hand, as he was the only one standing next to the child, who was thus under his supervision.
Nevertheless, after a few seconds, the child ran out onto the road again and was hit by a regular driver at a speed of 42-43 km / h in about 1.1-1.4 seconds. The child set off within braking distance, the driver of the car could not have avoided the accident even with intense braking. The little boy was killed on the spot, the statement said.
In the opinion of the competent district prosecutor’s office, the mother’s girlfriend had failed to prosecute her and she had terminated the proceedings against her mother.
According to the indictment, Csilla Hopp’s girlfriend did not act with due care, so she did not hold the hand of the young child under her supervision in an appropriate way, or in any other way, to prevent the three-year-old boy from entering the road again after doing so.
The Budapest VI. and VII. The District Attorney’s Office filed charges against him for negligent homicide, seeking a suspended prison sentence.
According to the district attorney’s office, the mother was not criminally liable for the omission, as, given all the circumstances, she could reasonably be confident that her child was sufficiently safe under the close and direct supervision of her girlfriend. The district prosecutor’s office therefore terminated the proceedings against the mother for negligent homicide.
