Index - Hungary - Gergely Gulyás appointed a new ministerial commissioner

Minister Gergely Gulyás, head of the Prime Minister’s Office, appointed Ildikó Kovácsné Bárány as the Ministerial Commissioner for Day Care for Young Children. A ministerial order to this effect was issued on Friday night Hungarian Gazetteben.

From Saturday, the Ministerial Commissioner will perform the following tasks:

  • prepares a professional proposal and action plan for the development of nursery care,
  • professionally gives opinions and coordinates tenders for the development of nursery care and amendments to legislation concerning nursery care,
  • monitors and continuously monitors the development of crèche places from different development sources,
  • coordinates the developments concerning the nursery care system,
  • ensure that the role of non-state nursery care is strengthened,
  • monitors the development of human resources in crèches,
  • formulates professional proposals to ensure efficient and effective nursery care,
  • liaises and co-operates with the relevant sectors and ministries on issues related to the development of nursery care,
  • liaises and co-operates with professional organizations on issues related to the development of nursery care,
  • liaises and co-operates with local government associations on issues related to the development of nursery care,
  • liaises and co-operates with other professional partners on issues related to the development of nursery care,
  • coordinates infrastructural developments affecting the pre-school education system.

The duties of the Ministerial Commissioner are managed by Gergely Gulyás, the Minister leading the Prime Minister’s Office.

Ildikó Kovácsné Bárány has been working in the Ministry of Social Policy and Labor since 2008 as a rapporteur on day care for children. He worked as a Childhood Specialist in the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice, and from 2011 he held the same position in the Ministry of National Resources. In 2018, Miklós Kásler, the Minister of Human Resources, was appointed Ministerial Commissioner for the Coordination of Nursery Affairs.
