Lucas Hernandez, defender of Bayern Munich and the French national team, has been sentenced to six months in prison, writes BBC.
The 25-year-old world star defender has been sentenced to prison for
because he violated a restraining order.
This was ordered in February 2017 for half a year after a dispute between him and his girlfriend, Amelia Ossa Llorente, degenerated into action. His girlfriend had to be taken to hospital with minor injuries after the incident. Hernandez was still a player at Atletico Madrid at the time.
After the incident, both Hernandez and his girlfriend were sentenced to 31 days of community service, and they themselves reconciled and stayed together. So much so that they soon got married,
and returned to Spain together from the honeymoon in June 2017.
However, they were spotted by authorities at Madrid’s Barajas Airport. Hernandez had committed an offense even after the conflict with his girlfriend had been settled.
In light of the current verdict, Hernandez will have to appear in court in Madrid on Tuesday and then have 10 days to go to jail. You will also be able to choose which prison you want to serve your sentence in. However, the judgment is not yet final,
the footballer’s lawyers appealed the verdict.
Lucas Hernandez was a member of the 2018 World Cup winning French team. The team had success against the Spaniards in the final of the League of Nations on Sunday.
