Index - Sports - Golovin Vladimir announces frame for women's World Cup

The list of Federal Captain Golovin Vladimir, which also includes Sandra Szöllősi-Zácsik, was published on the website of the Hungarian federation on Thursday morning, but she misses the training matches against Olympic champion France on Friday and Sunday due to injury and will only join the team early next week.

Fodor, Töpfner and Nikolett Kiss were left out of the framework being prepared in Budapest this week. There will be 16 players per match in the World Cup, five substitutions for teams during the tournament, and new players will be selected from the 35-strong pool in early October.

The seventh-placed Hungarians in the Olympic group will meet in Slovakia next Thursday with Slovakia, on Saturday in the Czech Republic, and on December 6 with Germany in Liria.

This year will be the 25th World Women’s Championship – and the 23rd one for the Hungarian national team – but the first to be attended by 32 teams instead of the usual 24 since 1997. The tournament will be hosted from 1 to 19 December by Granollers, Llíria, Castelló and Torrevieja.

The top three finishers in each of the eight groups will advance to the semi-finals, where the fights will continue in four groups of six each. From here, the top two finishers will advance to the quarterfinals. The Hungarian team will meet three national teams from the Republic of Korea, Denmark, the DRC and Tunisia in the semi-finals in Granollers.
