Inflation and absolute majority explain escalation of strikes in 2023 | CGTP

Inflation, loss of purchasing power and the perception that the Socialist Government, even with an absolute majority, is not responding to the problems are some of the reasons that explain the increase in social protest and strikes at the start of 2023. In January, notices tripled to 309 compared to the same month of 2022 and surpassed the 133 notices that had been registered in January 2019, the year before the pandemic.
