Mexico City, February 10 (However).– The Argentine Diego Coccatwo-time champion with Atlas in the Mx League, was named as new technical director of the men’s mexican national team soccer and presented this Friday at the facilities of the Mexican Soccer Federation (FMF).
“We welcome Diego Cocca, where he will be working and will be very successful as coach of the Mexican National Team,” said Rodrigo Ares de Parga, Executive Director of National Teams. “We needed a coach who had good group management, who knew Mexican soccer and who had a well-defined concept of the game,” he added.

The Argentine expressed his pride and privilege at being in charge of the Mexican soccer team, especially as it is the representative team of a country “that has given me a lot.”
“Mexico has made me grow as a person, as a professional and they welcomed me back as a Technician. For my way of feeling, being able to help Mexico to make its National Team grow is a privilege and an opportunity that I could not pass up”, highlighted Cocca.
Likewise, he promised to commit himself to the position with “seriousness, work and humility” with the aim of positioning Mexico within the first places.
“This is football and you have to win even in the ‘cascaritas’. Here they are going to find a team that is going to seek to go out and win every game”.
This Wednesday, the medium AS Mexico reported that the Committee of the Mexican Soccer Team in the FMF selected Diego Cocca as the new technical director of said team for the next World Cup cycle that will be in 2026 where Mexico, the United States and Canada will host the World Cup and without qualifiers for being the host country.
Because in this World Cup cycle there will be no qualifiers for being the host country, Mexico will have friendly matches that will serve as preparation, as well as tournaments such as the Gold Cup where it is already one of the representatives of the area. Therefore, Cocca will have a lot of work with El Tri to get to the next World Cup as well as possible.
