The La Guaira Sharks have appointed their Batting Coach Jackson Melían as team manager, following the dismissal of Dennis Malavé in the LVBP.
Indeed, the journalist Dionisio Bandes gave the information about the dismissal of Dennis Malavé and the appointment of Melían as helmsman of the team.
While it is true that Jackson’s experience is not very broad as a manager in the LVBP, it is no less true that he was the leader of the Caribes de Anzoátegui in the 2019-2020 season, where he led the tribe to the final, falling in seven dramatic games against the Cardinals of Lara, where small details separated the tribe from raising the crown in that harvest.
In the following season Jackson repeated as manager, but in the middle of it he was fired and in his place Mike Álvarez was appointed, who led the tribe to the 2020-2021 title.
The Pitching Coach will be Enrique González, while the Bullpén Coach will be Luis Colmenares and there is talk of Luis Oliveros for Bench Coach.
I think this is a great opportunity to Jackson to continue showing up in the LVBP as a manager and to be able to reverse the bad moment of the sharks this season.
Sharks from La Guaira will travel to Puerto La Cruz with a new manager. Today in the early hours of the morning it was decided to dismiss Dennis Malavé as leader of the shark group so that Jackson Melian assumes. First to report @bandes_dionisio. pic.twitter.com/nErfPyqQT1

Melían as a Sharks player:
In fact, Jackson played three seasons with the Salados (2004-2005, 2005-2006 and 2007-2008), where he connected 53 hits, 16 extra-base hits, 28 runs scored and 32 RBIs, with an average of 266.

In each team that played, great dedication and dedication were always seen, but Melían’s performance is remembered more with the sharks in the 2007-2008 harvest where in a disputed elimination round they managed to get into the last day of the elimination round to the postseason, with Caracas and Magallanes eliminated at the same time.
And precisely against Magallanes on December 16, 2007, Melían who entered as a pinch hitter, hit an unforgettable Grand Slam in the bottom of the tenth inning with the game 4-4 to land the Turks with a score of 8-4, unleashing the madness in the Guairista fans and with the zamba turned to full million.
