Shooters João Costa and Joana Castelão ranked 19th and 27th, respectively, in the 10-metre pistol test at the European Shooting Championship, taking place in Tallinn.
This Friday, João Costa totaled 576 points, four short of the record that qualified for the final, destined for the top eight, and which was led by the Slovakian Juraj Tuzinsky, with 583.
With one point less than Costa, Tiago Carapinha was 24th, while Fernando Colaço Ferreira, with 562, was 57th among the 65 competitors.
Joana Castelão ended up in 27th place with 564 points, when the eighth classified qualified for the final with 573, a record six points below the strongest, the Polish Klaudia Bres and the Serbian Zorana Arunovic, with 579.
Filipa Marracho, with 558 points, was 41st, while Ana Rodrigues ended the list of 59 competitors, with 528.
João Costa and Joana Castelão and Tiago Carapinha and Filipa Marracho will now join forces for the mixed team competition. In these Europeans, Portugal will also have Sara Antunes, Sofia Santos and Marcelo Cazassa in the rifle challenge.
