The Portuguese João Matias was placed seventh this Saturday in the omnium Olympic competition of the Jakarta Nations Cup in track cycling, in a competition won by the Dane Tobias Hansen.
After entering 12th in the race of scratchthe first of the four scoring races, the fifth place in time allowed him to improve the position, consolidated with seventh place in the elimination before the decisive race, of points, to finish seventh.
With 104 points, Matias managed to improve on the ninth achieved in the European Championship, at the beginning of February, in a test in which Hansen imposed himself, with 134 points, ahead of New Zealander Campbell Stewart, with 130, and Spaniard Sebastián Mora, with 119 .

This Sunday, the Olympian Maria Martins competes in the omnium, with qualifying followed by a race, while Diogo Narciso and Iúri Leitão compete in the other competition included in the Olympic Games programme, the madisonintended for pairs of cyclists.
