The president of the United States, Joe Biden, intends to run for re-election to the position in 2024, as confirmed by White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki at a press conference.

This statement came after the newspaper ‘Político’ published last week a series of information that listed a series of Democrats who would run as candidates for the formation in the event that Biden took a step aside.

After this, the president would have contacted members of his closest circle, including advisers, to reassure them about his intention to run for a second term. “It is his intention,” said Psaki.

At the time of these future elections, Biden would be 82 years old at the beginning of his possible term, although he already holds the record of being the oldest president at the time of his inauguration in January this year.

Biden himself defined himself as a transitional figure within the Democratic Party but also as a great option to unseat the then president, Donald Trump, from the Oval Office, recalls the newspaper ‘The Hill’.
