The Chilean women’s team fell 1-0 this Thursday morning against Slovakia, in a duel that is part of the mini preparatory tour that the team will have prior to their participation in the next Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. José Letelier, La Roja coach, was calm and positive after the duel.
The national team played a disparate game, with good pressure and intensity during the first half and then diluted in the second half and ended up falling by the minimum at the NTC Senec stadium with both Patricia Hmirova.
Despite the defeat, the Chilean technical director, José Letelier, remained calm and highlighted the chance of being able to give minutes to players who are not always in the usual eleven, with a view to testing variants for Tokyo:
“Without a doubt we wanted to have a better result, but we also incorporated players who had not had much participation in previous games and that leaves me satisfied”, explained.
Along the same lines, Letelier added that “I saw performances that left me very satisfied, and that gives us a greater range of possibilities to face the Olympic Games.”
Regarding the goal received by the selection, the DT did not dramatize, but explained that “It was a ball that was lost at the start. It was a deconcentration … they caught us in a bad way and the difference was generated on the scoreboard. These are things that are decisive in the long run.”
Finally, José Letelier spoke of next friendly challenge that the Chilean women’s team will have against Germany, second in the world ranking, to be played on Tuesday, June 15 at 09:00 AM.
“We want to get the most out of these rivals, because they are very similar to what we will run into at the Olympics.”, Hill.
