I often say that I don’t like lawyers. There is something unpleasant about the personality of people who make arguing their living. It is not about arguing for what they believe, but for what they are mandated to defend. The profession requires that one does not conclude from reasoning, but rather that one reason from a conclusion that is previously established and which is mandatory. This practice marks character. Few escape the rule.
