Judit Varga met with Rik Daems, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, on Thursday afternoon, according to an entry published by the Minister of Justice on the Community website.
As he wrote, Rik Daemsz assured that he “strongly supports” the program of the Hungarian Presidency, including the promotion of the effective protection of national minorities, as well as its environmental objectives. He also welcomed the fact that the Hungarian presidency is also focusing on the issue of the fundamental right to a healthy environment, Judit Varga added.
According to the Minister of Justice, “the Hungarian government’s approach to linking human rights and environmental protection is based on reality”. According to him, effective environmental policy can also be pursued without hindering innovation and economic development.
On Thursday afternoon, Katalin Novák, Minister without Portfolio for Families, also met with the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. The main topic of the meeting was support for families.
