While his adventure in Charleroi ended at the end of last season, Karim Belhocine should very likely find employment at the Stade des Éperons d’Or. The French and Kortrijk are expected to finalize the deal soon. The signing is even already expected this Tuesday.
Belhocine, who also went through Anderlecht as an assistant and interim coach between October 2017 and June 2019, holds the rope to succeed Luka Elsner, who left for Standard. The departure of the Slovenian in Liège caused an outcry from the Kerels side. “It’s frustrating, unacceptable”, declared Ronny Verhelst, the president of Kortrijk. “I even find it a falsification of the competition.”
But Kortrijk will therefore not have had to wait long before finding a new coach. Belhocine also knows the house well since he has already worked there in the past, between 2015 and 2017. He wore the caps of assistant, technical director, sports director and even T1 (he led there 11 games).
