Katalin Novák informed the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe

Supporting families and combating demographic decline is not an ideological issue, so we can help each other a lot by presenting good practices that work, writes Katalin Novák, Minister without Portfolio for Families, in her post on the community page.

The Minister spoke to Rik Daems, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, on how they can find a common denominator in matters where the approach differs between Member States.

I informed Mr. President about the Hungarian family benefits, I described the baby waiting allowance, the chocolate, the family tax credit and the increasing baby care fee

– wrote Katalin Novák, who is confident that the dialogue will continue within the framework of the presidency.

The presidency of Hungary’s Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe began last Friday. According to Katalin Novák, this creates an opportunity to put topics important to the Hungarian people on the agenda at the European level as well. These include the protection of national minorities, a secure digital world or the development of talent, the minister added.
