Lucinda Brand is certain of the overall win after Denise Betsema cancels for the Flamanville World Cup in France. It concerns the penultimate race in the World Cup, a cross that is unfortunately characterized by a lot of absences, such as the world champion.
After 13 World Cup matches, Brand leads the standings with 402 points, 59 more than Denise Betsema. Since the Dutch decided not to participate in France on Sunday, the gap is unbridgeable and Brand wins the classification, because with Hoogerheide there is only one more race on the program after Flamanville. Brand is also not present in Flamanville, any more than Annemarie Worst or Marianne Vos and Ceylin der Carmen Alvarado.
In the men’s race, Eli Iserbyt is already certain of the overall win, but he will appear at the start in France, together with his teammates Michael Vanthourenhout and Laurens Sweeck, on a course that is part of the World Cup for the first time. Wout van Aert has put a line behind his cross season, Tom Pidcock is not there either, nor Mathieu van der Poel or Lars Van der Haar. The biggest opposition must be expected from our own ranks or from Toon Aerts.
