Fluent design, quick launch and drawing. WhatsApp for Windows 10 and 11 was released in beta

Meta – formerly Facebook – is redesigning its communication clients for Windows. WhatsApp has recently adapted to the design style of Microsoft operating systems. Above all, the development team completely changed the technological basis and built the client on the Universal Windows Platform (UWP). It is thus significantly more agile and compact.

But Messenger is also being redesigned, a beta version has even been released. Unlike the aforementioned WhatsApp, however, testing not open to all. As he informs Windows Blog Italiawho tried the beta version 1320.11.119.0, the new client is no longer created in Electron, but in the environment React Native. It is said to use many parts of UWP, including native graphic elements.

The redesigned client consumes less system resources and runs faster. It doesn’t even take up that much storage space – according to the published screenshot the difference can be 100 MB. It is not clear when the new client will have a new client. The Italian blog talks about a number of weeks.

It has recently been revealed that the development team is working on simplified access to chats using floating avatars, as we know it from Android.
