Michael Conforto doesn't sound convinced about his future at the Mets

The gardener Michael Comfort He is not convinced if he wants to continue playing baseball with the Mets of New York as he spoke to the media about his path to free agency at the end of this season.

The Mets they are going to make a qualifying offer to Michael Comfort instead of trying to extend his contract for the next seasons to come, which many players do not like very much.

Conforto was an all-star in 2017 and since then he has not won any type of award, his career has not looked good in the last two seasons thanks to injuries and offensive losses, however, his defense remains the same.

Apparently the team is not very convinced whether to sign Conforto for multiple seasons, things that all players their age look for when they are free agents, to secure a contract for several seasons. That is what could divide your paths.

Here the words of Michael Comfort:

“It very well could not be the end of my time here. It may be, but very well it could not. I grew up here, I learned a lot here, my professional career was here ”.

Why aren’t the Mets looking for an extension?

In the next season, nobody saves them from Robinson Canó’s contract unless they change him to another team, although they must surely take over a certain part of his contract. In addition, Noah Syndergaard, and Marcus Stroman, Carlos Carrasco, Jeurys Familia and Kevin Pillar are free agents at the end of this season. And not to mention if they want to keep the services of Javier Báez.
