Most of Pornhub’s content was unverified
For those who didn’t intend to monetize the content, all they asked for was an email address, so there was no verification process.
This meant that sharing content that wasn’t theirs or was not consensual was easy to do, and the lack of verification made it “very difficult to actually trace that person”.
Performers have been campaigning for mandatory verification for years, and Pornhub said, “We’re working on it, it will happen eventually.”
Speaking of her three years with the company, Noelle Perdue said, “The vast majority of Pornhub content was unverified.”
