The impressive gusts of wind registered on Thursday afternoon in Rosario caused serious damage, such as the blowing up of some roofs and windows, falls of about 50 trees and damage to cars that had been left in the open.

Two of the most significant events had been carried out by vehicles. In the first, a Peugeot 208 had been left under a huge tree, while in the second, A Fiat Palio collided with the branches of another specimen that had fallen on boulevard Oroño and Cochabamba.
What’s more, The huge flag that was on the highest mast in Rosario, in Puerto Norte, was flown and ended up in the river. Tables and chairs were also lost from the bars in the area, and even windows in the luxurious homes were broken.
“The strongest gust of wind reached 70.2 kilometers per hour”, informed the director of Civil Defense of the local municipality, Gonzalo Ratner, and added that more than 200 calls entered the emergency center.
From the Rosario Integrated Operations Center (CIOR) they had warned about a yellow alert for strong winds of 35 and 55 km / h, with gusts that can exceed 70 km / h. They recommended removing elements from balconies and terraces that could be moved by the wind, and in case of any problem they asked to call 103.

The National Meteorological Service (SMN) reported that the south and center of Santa Fe, Córdoba and the south of Santiago del Estero will continue to be affected by these gusts. In Rosario’s case, it announced possible showers at night and early in the morning.
