Members of the Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST) vacated, this Tuesday (7), two other areas of the company Suzano Papel e Celulose. The place was occupied by the group in the cities of Teixeira de Freitas and Caravelas, in the extreme south of Bahia.
Also on Tuesday, the group also vacated the company’s occupied area in the municipality of Mucuri.
According to g1 Bahia, the MST office informed that the members are waiting for the meeting to be held with the Ministry of Agrarian Development (MDA) in Brasília, on Wednesday (8). Representatives of the group, Suzano and the state and federal governments will discuss the occupations that took place in southern Bahia.
The areas belonging to the Suzano company were occupied on February 27th. Days after the occupations, the Court of Justice of Bahia (TJ-BA) determined the departure of the MST groups that occupied the land and the reintegration of possession of the areas.
According to the MST advisory, the evacuation of all areas was carried out peacefully and accompanied by Social Assistance, military police and security from the company Suzano.
People who were camped at the sites moved to neighboring camps.
