The address of Botanical Garden from Santiago Teacher Eugene of Jesus Marcano unveiled this Friday a mural in tribute to cultural manager, Writer Y journalist freddy gin.

The painting, embodied in the amphitheater of the environmental space, is called El rinconcito de Freddy.

Nelson Bautista, director of the Botanical Garden from Santiago, highlighted that the work was dedicated to Geneva for its extraordinary contributions to the theater, the writing, the Arts, the media, journalism and history.

The founder of House of theater He thanked the recognition for receiving him in life.

“I am tremendously excited and flattered by this honor. I said that before I died, if they were going to do something, they should do it there. I am enjoying it with very dear friends who are here,” he said.

He expressed how satisfying it is for him to receive recognition in a space like the Botanical Garden.

“Nature means so much to me that they couldn’t have chosen a better place. I feel tremendously honored by that,” he said.

The mural, called El rinconcito de Freddy, is part of the cultural attractions that the Botanical Garden.

The work of art is the authorship of Khaterine Santana and Manaury Calasán, who thanked the trust to make the altarpiece.

“We use the color yellow in the work in honor of him –freddy gin– who has been a light for us artists,” said Khaterine Santana.

During the act, Francisco Castellanos, representing the council of the area, read a brief portrait of freddy gin.

The work was sponsored by Fundecart, which is chaired by the manager and director of municipal culture Yanilsa Cruz. The ceremony was attended by family, friends and relatives of the honoree.

Other recognitions

During his career, the author of the book “Celebrando la vida” has been recognized as National Pride of Cinema in the Dominican Republic, Knight of the Order in France and with the Isabel la Católica Order, awarded by the Spanish embassy.

Graduated in Social Communication from the O&M University, he has more than a decade of journalistic practice. Proud father of Lía and Eva.
