With twelve out of twelve halfway through the qualifying campaign, our country seems well on its way to the European Championship. Denmark follows in second place with six points, but they have played one game less. Turkey, the next opponent, is third with four points from three matches. “We have taken a step and it must now be confirmed,” national coach Jacky Mathijssen told rights holder Proximus afterwards. “In a month’s time we will face Turkey here, a match of equal difficulty. They also won and still believe in it. If we shake them off, we’ll be close.”
