New Belgian diamond?  Johan Bakayoko (18) scores four goals for Jong PSV and applies for a chance at A-team

Jong PSV won 1-4 at VVV Venlo on the 22nd match day in the Dutch second division. Man of the match was Johan Bakayoko, an 18-year-old Belgian.

Bakayoko is a youth product of KV Mechelen and Anderlecht, which left him for Eindhoven in the summer of 2019. The attacker has since turned out to be a fixture with the U19 Red Devils of Wesley Sonck and recently gave them a win against England.

Bakayoko has been on a roll this season. He has already scored eleven goals and seven assists this season for the PSV promise team, which participates in the Kitchen Champion Division. Earlier this week, he scored a goal and two assists in a 5-1 win against Almere City.

On Friday evening it really hit the right flank attacker. In the 1-4 victory at VVV Venlo, Bakayoko scored all four goals of PSV. A low shovel with left in the bottom corner, a penalty, a curl ball with left after a dribble and a cross/shot that whirled into goal in the far corner.

“The Belgian will undoubtedly hope that later this season he will get a chance from Roger Schmidt to also show himself in the Eredivisie,” writes Voetbal International. Bakayoko was on the bench once this season with the first team of PSV (with Yorbe Vertessen), against Fortuna Sittard in November.
