CDMX.- The film adaptation of the Broadway musical “Love without barriers” by director Steven Spielberg will be released in theaters on December 9 and it is already causing expectations.
From a script by Kushner, the film tells the story of rivalries and youthful love in the city of New York from 1957.
The new adaptation stars Ansel Elgort (Tony), Rachel Zegler (María), Ariana DeBose (Anita), David Alvarez (Bernardo), Mike Faist (Riff), Josh Andrés Rivera (Chino), Ana Isabelle (Rosalía), Corey Stoll (Lieutenant Schrank) , Brian d’Arcy James (Officer Krupke) and Rita Moreno (like Valentina, the owner of the corner store where Tony works).
Spielberg enters a new challenge
Bringing together the best artists from Broadway y Hollywood, the creative team includes Kushner, who also served as executive producer, a Justin Peck, the winner of an award Tony (award to the best of theater) who choreographed the musical numbers of the film.
“Love without barriers” is a film adaptation of the original musical by Broadway 1957, with a libretto by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and concept, direction and choreography by Jerome Robbins.
