Laatzen – An unidentified man stopped at a tram stop in Laatzen near Hanover seriously injured a 34-year-old with a knife.

The injured man was taken to a clinic in an ambulance, a police spokeswoman said on Saturday.

The perpetrator fled on foot with two companions after the crime early on Saturday morning. A witness called the police.

The officials are now looking for the unknown and ask other witnesses to report. The police began investigations into dangerous bodily harm and secured evidence at the crime scene on Saturday.

According to initial findings, the 34-year-old and the three strangers initially got into an argument on a tram in the direction of Rethen at around 5.30 a.m. The reason for this was initially unclear.

After everyone got off at the Ginsterweg stop, one of the men pulled out a knife and stabbed the 34-year-old. The perpetrator and his two companions escaped despite an initiated search.

According to the police, the main perpetrator is said to be about 1.70 meters tall and wore a yellow jacket.
