The Undersecretary of Services and Digital Country, Ana Carina Rodriguezled the inauguration of the Federal Digital Point, Entre Ríos, accompanied by Mayor Gerardo Chapino; the director responsible for the Digital Point Program, Pilar Araneta; and the Secretary for Modernization of Entre Ríos, María Lucrecia Escandón.
Starting this Monday, June 13, 18,000 federal residents have this new space that provides material, technical and educational resources to access information and communication technologies (ICT), promoting the extension of rights and the reduction of digital divides.
Also participating in the event was the Undersecretary of Provincial Community and Territorial Policies, Rose Silva; the director of the Telecommunications Control and Regulation Entity, Leandro Reyes; the director of Management of Local Programs, Juan Pablo Zacarías; and the delegate of the National Communications Entity (ENACOM), Juan Claudio Muga.
During the act, Rodriguez approached the greetings of the Secretary of Technological Innovation of the Public Sector, Micaela Sánchez Malcolm, and stated: “We are very happy to be here at Federal, inaugurating this new Digital Point. As has been happening in other municipalities in the country, whether they are large or poorly called small, these spaces become a reference for the entire community in which they are inserted, carrying out all kinds of activities for people of all ages.”
In this context, the official concluded: “The pandemic highlighted the importance of being connected and connected. That’s why the role played by Digital Points is extremely importantsince they enable Internet access, equipment, content, assistance with procedures and entertainment, among other things.
While, Chapino thanked the presence of the national and provincial authorities and emphasized how fundamental it is “the joint work between the three levels of the State, the Nation, the Province and the Municipalities to provide solutions to the neighbors” and added that “this Digital Point is precisely the result of that synergy ”.
The arrival of the Program provides great benefits for the residents of Federal since, in addition to free access to the Internet, the new Digital Point is equipped with 17 notebooks, audiovisual projection equipment and two video game consoles.
This Entre Ríos town joins the digital inclusion program with the largest presence in the country: the 24 jurisdictions of Argentina participate, it exceeds 600 spaces distributed throughout the national territory and forms a powerful network for the exchange of experiences, training and collaborative work.
The Program has more than eleven years of continuity and the objective for the coming years is to continue strengthening the collective construction between the Nation and the province to advance digital inclusion throughout the country.
