Arik Smith to Telenet Giants Antwerp


Telenet Giants Antwerp has attracted a fourth new American reinforcement with Arik Smith. The 28-year-old and 1m86 tall shooting guard worked for Bergen for two seasons (2019-2021).

Arik Smith’s first European experience was in 2017 with Umea in Sweden. From there it went to Bratislava, Slovakia. In 2019 he moved to Bergen. In the first season, he averaged 14 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. In the second campaign, he averaged 13 points, garnered 3 rebounds and provided 3 assists. In 2021 he played the final of the play-offs with Bergen and versus Ostend. Last season he played for the Italian (Serie 2A) Ristropo Fabriano (15.5 points). “The 28-year-old shooting guard has a lot of scoring ability and can also create well for his teammates. Arik Smith is a player with a lot of grinta and fighting spirit and is defensively minded. We are counting on him to lead our Giants on the field. With the arrival of Arik, the team of coach Ivica Skelin is complete except for one player.
