– Last year’s agreements signed at SPIEF are already yielding results: serious investments are coming to the region’s economy, the region is receiving new production projects, taxes, and jobs. I am sure that the new agreements will show the effect very soon. Investments in projects in our region are measured in billions as a result of the forum, – said Governor Igor Babushkin.

So, for example, the program of the Astrakhan delegation at SPIEF 2022 was replenished with another agreement: the existing measures to support entrepreneurs and self-employed citizens of the Astrakhan region in starting and developing a business will soon be expanded. The agreement on the development of small and medium-sized businesses in the region was signed by the governor of the Astrakhan region, Igor Babushkin, and the general director of the SME Corporation, Alexander Isaevich.

Also, within the framework of the XXV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, a plan of joint events for 2022-2024 was signed under the current agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and socio-cultural cooperation between the Astrakhan region and Tatarstan.

The new document includes specific measures for cooperation in the areas of trade and economic relations and investment activities, in the field of tariff regulation, agriculture, environmental protection, tourism, culture, labor, employment and social protection, youth policy, education, archives.

It should be noted that for the first time in the history of participation in the forum, the Astrakhan region presented its own stand. Hundreds of visitors learned about the potential of the region, the strategic directions of work on the development of the transport and logistics hub and the ITC “North-South”.

As the head of the region emphasized, it is very important for strengthening the economy of the Astrakhan region that steps in the implementation of major projects are supported by the federal authorities.
