VII Moscow Regional Festival of National Cultures “Moscow Region – Territory of Friendship” was held today in Balashikha. It was opened by the Minister of Information and Social Communications of the region Ekaterina Shvelidze.
“This is a big, bright celebration of national cultures, dances, costumes, and, of course, delicious food. But the most important thing is that it is a platform for the unity of various peoples, friendship, and kindness. This is especially important today, on Russia Day. On this wonderful holiday, we are all together, we are united, which means we are strong, and everything will be fine,” said Ekaterina Shvelidze.
The festival is organized by the Ministry of Information and Social Communications of the Moscow Region. On the central platform adjacent to the ice palace, several different format zones were deployed.
Artists from all over the Moscow region performed on the main stage. The program includes national music and dances, a show of folk costumes.
10 nationalities presented their original dishes at the “Cuisines of the World” site. During the day, 3,000 servings of fragrant pilaf and sweet tea were prepared for everyone. You could also try chicken and lamb tandyrkebab, Belarusian knyshi, khachapuri, Chuvash garlic flatbread, chak-chak, lekakh, baklava from Azerbaijani confectioners and Mordovian gingerbread amulets.
In the exhibition area, handicrafts were demonstrated: scarves, toys, jewelry, exclusive souvenirs, objects of national applied art of Mordovia, Israel, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Germany, Chuvashia, Tatarstan, Kazakhstan, Russia. All this was presented by national communities from different districts of the Moscow region.
“I want to sincerely congratulate you on the Day of Russia,” said Rushan Abbyasov, chairman of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of the Moscow Region. – This is our national holiday of all peoples, representatives of all religions. Our country is unique, it is diverse, it has gathered more than 190 peoples who live in peace and harmony and develop our fatherland.”
