This was announced by Bavaria’s Economics Minister Hubert Aiwanger (51, Free Voters) on Tuesday during a visit to the Scottish hydrogen stronghold of Aberdeen.

Scotland, where significant potential for wind power is to be exploited, wants to start massively in hydrogen production, said Aiwanger. The port city of Aberdeen was previously known primarily as the metropolis of the British oil industry.

“I am convinced that this is a promising path and that we have found a good energy partner country for Bavaria,” said the Bavarian politician on site.

On Monday he signed a declaration of intent for a Bavarian-Scottish hydrogen partnership with the government in Glasgow.
