WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President Joe Biden continues to feel “very good” but still tested positive for Covid-19, the White House doctor said on Friday.

Biden will continue with strict isolation measures and work from home, Dr Kevin O’Connor said in a newsletter.

“The president continues to feel very good. His cough is almost completely resolved. Your temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation remain fully normal. Your lungs stay clear,” O’Connor wrote.

Biden, 79, had just come out of isolation on Wednesday of last week after testing positive for Covid-19 for the first time on July 21, when he tested positive again on Saturday. O’Connor described the case as a “rebound” seen in a small percentage of patients taking the antiviral drug Paxlovid.

Paxlovid is an antiviral drug from Pfizer used to treat high-risk patients, such as elderly patients.
