On Thursday evening there was a shootout in the Rommerskirchen district of Butzheim, in which two people were injured.
As the police announced in an updated press release, civilian police forces were able to catch the 57-year-old fugitive on Bergheimer Strasse in Neuss as part of the large-scale search. Questioning must now clarify why the perpetrator opened fire.
Rommerskirchen – A 57-year-old in Rommerskirchen shot two people in the street! One person was injured so badly that he had to be flown to the hospital by helicopter.
According to the police, the 57-year-old suspect, who was known by name, opened fire on the two victims around 7 p.m.
When the emergency services arrived, the officials not only met the two victims of the shooting, but also witnesses who were present.
Immediately after the crime, the police launched a large-scale search, which is still ongoing at this moment. A helicopter is also involved in the search.

The police ask you to avoid the cordoned-off crime area as far as possible in order not to hinder the search for and securing of evidence.
According to initial findings, the act is said to have been preceded by a dispute. Further background to the crime is still being determined.
