MIAMI, United States. — Mobs at the service of the Castro regime attacked several human rights activists in Mexico this Monday, including representatives of Cuban exiles in the United States.

The event occurred when pro-democracy activists, led by Dr. Orlando Gutiérrez Boronat, coordinator of the Assembly of the Cuban Resistance (ARC), were mobilizing to carry out a peaceful protest in front of the Embassy of the dictatorship in the Mexican capital.

The Castro militants confronted the peaceful activists with chants such as “This street belongs to Fidel” and then tried to exert physical violence against them by using blunt objects.

“We were going to hold a peaceful demonstration in front of the regime’s embassy in Mexico to denounce the human rights violations in Cuba, the lack of democracy, the hundreds of unjustly imprisoned political prisoners, and we were attacked by Castroist mobs,” Gutiérrez Boronat said. in statements offered to CubaNet.

The ARC coordinator was one of the targets of the attack, which would end up being put down by Mexican security agents.

“Orlando Gutiérrez, we have you in our sights,” the Castro militants chanted.

The Cuban politician made it clear to CubaNet that the objective of the attackers was to block the successful exile agenda in the Mexican capital, marked by the participation in a forum of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) and in different meetings held with political leaders and activists from the region.

“They wanted to prevent the inevitable: the creation of a great solidarity coalition against the Castro dictatorship,” Gutiérrez-Boronat said.

Finally, the peaceful protest against the Cuban Embassy took place and was attended by the former president of Poland and Nobel Peace Prize winner Lech Walesa.
