The famous Spanish fashion house Balenciaga launched a scandalous campaign where children pose accompanied by bears. Toys that appear dressed in sadomasochistic accessories. Social outrage viralized the photos that reached different parts of the world.
This campaign corresponds to the spring/summer 2023 collection. Soon the company had to go out and apologize publicly. It was in their Instagram stories where they clarified that the Christmas campaign was removed from all platforms.
“We sincerely apologize forr any offense our Christmas campaign may have caused. Our teddy bear bags should not have been featured with children in this campaign. We have immediately removed the campaign from all platforms,” Balenciaga wrote.
And they went further: “We apologize for showing disturbing documents in our campaign… We take this matter very seriously and are taking legal action against the parties responsible for creating the set and including unapproved elements for our Spring campaign photo shoot 23. We strongly condemn child abuse in any form. We stand up for the safety and well-being of children.”
The company recently made headlines for breaking off its business relationship with rapper Ye. Who is Ye? Nothing less than the known Kanye Westex-husband of Kim Kardashian, who legally changed his name before presenting his eighth album.
