The Haitian Ministry of Health reported Thursday that the cholera outbreak has caused 174 deaths since October this year.


PAHO warns of the progress of the cholera outbreak in Haiti

According to the Haitian Health entity, 117 deaths have been reported in various hospitals in the country, while 57 people have died at home.

It also indicated the existence of 807 confirmed cases, 8,146 hospitalized cases and 9,317 suspected cases of cholera.

The portfolio explained that there are nine departments of the country affected by the disease.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) highlighted the vulnerability of pregnant women to the disease, especially in the last trimester of pregnancy.

He also referred to the need to pay attention to people with disabilities due to the difficulties in accessing basic services.
