On Friday evening, a 38-year-old was seriously injured in a dispute in the trendy district around the Warsaw Bridge in Berlin-Friedrichshain.

The man is said to have tried to settle a dispute between groups around 7 p.m. – at least three participants are said to have attacked him and suddenly hit him, the police said on Saturday.

The man is said to have fled in the direction of Tamara-Danz-Straße, but the suspects followed him and continued to hit and kick him, even when he was on the ground.

After bystanders had verbally intervened, the suspects fled in the direction of the S-Bahn station Warschauer Straße.

The 38-year-old was taken to a hospital for treatment with fractures in his cheekbones and lower jaw, a laceration and hematomas.

Criminal Investigation Department took over the investigation.
