The Director General of the Colombian Police, Jorge Luis Vargas, updated this Wednesday on the inquiries about the nationality of the assassins who assassinated the Paraguayan anti-drug trafficking prosecutor Marcelo Pecci, in Barú, Cartagena.
According to Vargas, during this day he will hold a meeting with the delegation of investigators who traveled from Paraguay to exchange information and make inquiries: “Since yesterday we have been speaking with the Paraguayan Police and the Prosecutor’s Office to exchange information, as well as the DEA and other US federal agencies,” he explained.
Vargas reiterated that the Government of Colombia offers a reward of up to 500,000 dollars for any information that leads to those responsible for the murder of the Paraguayan prosecutor, while explaining that flights, cameras, telephone antennas, among others, are being analyzed within the framework of the investigations. .
Paraguayan prosecutors Alicia Sapriza and Manuel Doldán traveled to Colombia to join the investigation initiated by the authorities of that country. The United States authorities were also involved in the case.
He reported, on the other hand, that “Colombian Police officers have been appointed to accompany the decision of the family and the Government of Paraguay (on the transfer of the lifeless body of prosecutor Marcelo Pecci to that country)”.
The Network of Anti-Drug Prosecutors of Ibero-America (RFAI_AIAMP), made up of prosecutors from 20 countries, said Pecci was “an exceptional prosecutor committed to his work as a service to Paraguayan society and as a way to contribute to a safer world.”
