Cuba commemorates the 77th anniversary of the victory over fascism (+ Video)

With a military ceremony at the Soviet Internationalist Soldier Mausoleum, Cuba commemorated this Monday the 77th anniversary of the victory over fascism.

Presided over by the member of the Political Bureau of the Party and Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), General of the Army Corps Álvaro López Miera, floral offerings dedicated by the FAR, by the embassies of Azerbaijan, Belarus and of the Russian Federation, as well as by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples.

Flowers were then placed in the burial mounds where the remains of the soviet internationalist soldiersand six trees were planted in the Garden of Memory.

“77 years after that historic event, it is imperative to continue advancing to preserve world peace, denounce with all possible forces everything that attempts against it, as an essential guarantor of the survival of humanity,” said Brigadier General Arnaldo Tamayo Méndez.

The ceremony was also attended by the ambassadors of Belarus and Kazakhstan, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as heads and officers of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The date was recalled on Twitter by the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.
