The Cuban team is undefeated in the Culiacán 2022 International Under-10 Baseball Championshipafter the first three competitive dates.
On Sunday they beat Mexico 4×2, on Monday 10×0 and 9×0 against Ecuador and Brazil, respectively; and this Tuesday to the Dominican Republic with a narrow score of 5×4.
In the fight, based at the Gloria Borrego Parque Constitución Stadium, the Cubans lead with 4-0, ahead of Mexico (3-1), the Dominican Republic (2-2), Brazil (1-3) and Ecuador (0 -4).
The qualifying round, which is played by the round-robin format, will end on Saturday, November 26. The first two places will dispute the crown and the occupants of positions three and four will go for bronze.
The Antillean team exhibits 10 batters above .300 average, with a highlight for Humberto Ronaldo Alfonso, Alfredo Despaigne and Yuceidel Torres, who do it for .500. Emzo Cabrera is hitting .417 and has two of the team’s six home runs.
Cuba’s pitching works for an outstanding 1.50 ERA, they only hit .148 and he has prescribed 27 strikeouts.
The next presentation of the Antilleans will be this Thursday against Mexico from 8:30 p.m.
