The First Secretary of the PCC and President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, stated on his official Twitter account that he will join this Friday, May 13 at 7:00 pm in the Parque de la Fraternidad at the vigil for the victims of the accident at the Hotel Saratoga.
“We join our youth in tonight’s vigil for the #HotelSaratoga victims. Lights and a minute of silence for them to be #AlwaysWithUs. Just as the flag looks at half-staff, there is pain in the chest of good people,” said the president in his profile on the social network, thus showing the humanism of the Cuban Revolution.
The vigil was convened by the UJC, and those who cannot make it can join at 9:00 pm at home in a heartfelt minute of silence with a light for the 46 victims of the Hotel Saratoga, who will always be with us.
The vigil constitutes another sample of the solidarity that identifies the Cuban and more so in situations like this, where after a painful search for the victims, for six days a total of 99 injured in the accident was quantified, of which 46 died.
