Heitor Miranda dos Santos, former mayor of Porto Murtinho and retired public prosecutor, died at the end of the afternoon of this Wednesday (23), at the age of 69. A member of the Workers’ Party, he was the brother of José Orcírio Miranda dos Santos, former governor Zeca of the PT.

Heitor Miranda was admitted to Unimed’s ICU (Intensive Care Unit) in Campo Grande. Since 2018, he has suffered from heart problems and earlier this month, he had complications that triggered respiratory failure. He was intubated.

About his brother’s state of health, Zeca had said this Wednesday that “only the grace of God” could make him “return home”. Late this afternoon, the former governor, now elected state deputy, confirmed his brother’s departure, without giving details.

When he answered the call for the report, the shock was clear. Zeca just said that the family schedules the wake to start at 8 am this Thursday and then the cremation, but she was unable to inform the location.

Heitor Miranda managed Porto Murtinho from 2013 to 2016. He is survived by his wife, Myrian dos Santos, three children – Mano, Marcelo and Myriane – and grandchildren.
