On eBay, the right to a private dinner with one of the richest men in the world, Warren Buffett, was sold for a record $19 million.

All proceeds from the sale go to a charitable organization that helps poor and homeless Americans.

Under the terms of the auction, the winner can bring up to seven guests to dinner with Buffett. The meeting will take place at a New York steakhouse.

The last lunch with the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway took place in 2019 and cost the bidder $4.5 million. Auctions have not been held in the past two years due to coronavirus concerns. The same dinner, according to the 91-year-old Buffett, will be the last.

– It was exceptionally good. I met many interesting people from all over the world. They are united by one thing – they believe that the money will be used with benefit, – the billionaire commented on the practice of such auctions.

In total, since 2000, Warren Buffett has raised more than $53 million for philanthropists in this way.

According to Forbes, the head of Berkshire Hathaway and one of the most successful investors of all time is in seventh place in the world rankings with a fortune of approximately $93.4 billion. By the way, Buffett plans to give away almost all the money earned over a long life to charity.
