The municipality of Dourados, 317 kilometers from Campo Grande, will have a new building for the Public Defender of Mato Grosso do Sul as of Friday (29). The hub will meet demands from the criminal sphere, childhood and also from the Nupiir (Institutional Nucleus for the Promotion and Defense of Indigenous Peoples and Racial and Ethnic Equality).
The city already has two public service buildings, one for the civil area, which will remain in the same location, and another for criminal cases, which will be moved to the new location.
“The new unit will have 12 rooms and a reception with the capacity to better accommodate around 50 seats. In addition, the site was completely designed with elevator accessibility, ample space and bathrooms adapted for people with disabilities”, according to the general public defender, Patrícia Elias Cozzolino de Oliveira.
The inauguration ceremony will be at the Public Defender’s Office of the municipality and will be attended by public defenders of the region, in addition to members of the Judiciary, Administrative and Legislative powers.
